2013 Cannes Film Festival – Day 8

Michael DouglasThe 66th Cannes Festival still has a few surprises to offer, especially with upcoming entries from James Gray, Jim Jarmusch and Roman Polanski.

A few performances however already look  award-worthy, from Michael Douglas as Liberace in Behind the Candelabra  (photo: Moland Fengkov) to Ali Mosaffa as a distressed father and Toni Servillo as an old melancholic man in The Great Beauty.

Adèle Exarchopoulos (photo: Moland Fengkov) delivers the most memorable performance for an actress in La Vie D’Adele, overshadowing Marine Vacth (Young and Beautiful) who was a favorite just a few days ago – both girls actually use their looks and body but in different ways.

Adèle ExarchopoulosWho knows if Steven Spielberg’s jury will embrace those choices when comes Sunday but what is sure is that Adèle Exarchopoulos is a revelation this year.
