AFI Fest November 11th Film Picks

manakamana-posterThis Monday offers another strong selection of movies to watch at AFI Fest:

R100: A Japanese film about a father who signs up for a Bondage club. Looking forward to watch that one, based on a very atmospheric trailer. 1:30PM @ the Chinese 2.

Manakamana: A slow-paced, bare but absorbing documentary about Nepali pilgrims heading to – or leaving – a temple in a cable car. Knowing that festival tickets are free and that lots of people get tickets for random films, I’d be curious to know how many spectators will embrace this experience and how many will leave the theater within the first 30mn. 7:00PM @ the Chinese 2. read our review here

Borgman: A cruel, strange and disturbing tale from the Netherlands about a homeless man hired as a gardener by a wealfthy family. 9:30pm @ the Chinese 4. read our review here
