Ain’t Them Bodies Saints Blu-ray

aint-them-bodies-saints-posterStarring Casey Affleck and Rooney Mara – plus two solid supporting performances by Ben Foster and Keith Carradine – , Ain’t Them Bodies Saints is a modern western about a couple of outlaws trying to reunite after a stint in jail. While somewhat reminiscent of Badlands, the film has its voice – rather than following their crimes it portrays the aftermath – and proved to be haunting piece.

The Blu-Ray edition finely translates the picture’s stunning photography and atmosphere. When it comes to extras, it doesn’t however have much to offer, as it is often the case with indie movies working with smaller budgets – all we’re getting here is a Making of featurette and the trailer …

Own it, Watch it or Skip it?

If you read my coverage of the LA film festival, you probably know that Ain’t Them Bodies Saints (read my full review here) was my favorite entry so I would certainly recommend watching and/or owning it.
