Cannes 2013 Award Forecast

Before getting started, let’s highlight our three favorites: Jim Jarmusch’s rock vampire flick Only lovers Left Alive (photo: Moland Fengkov), Abdellatif Kéchiche’s The Life Of Adele and Kore Eda’s Like Father, Like Son.

Here are our favorites:

  • Palme d’Or: The Life Of Adele (review) – Abdellatif Kechiche
  • Grand Prize: Heli (review) – Amat Escalante
  • Jury Prize: Like father like son (review) – Kore-Eda Hirokazu
  • Best Direction: Borgman (review) – Alex Van Warmerdam
  • Best Actor: Michael Douglas
  • Best Actress: Adele Exarchopoulos
  • Best Screenplay: Tian Zhu Ding – Jia Zhangke

  • Jury Prize: Like father like son – Kore-Eda Hirokazu

  • Best Actor: Michael Douglas (tied with Matt Damon)
  • Best Actress: Adele Exarchopoulos (tied with Léa Seydoux)
  • Best Screenplay: The Past (review) – Asghar Farhadi
