Cannes Film Festival 2015 Day 6: Mid-Festival Recap

We’re already half way through the festival and it’s still too early to give some award predictions.  What is sure is that we’re already feeling the fatigue. What we can say so far is that two movies left an indelible mark: Laszlo Nemes’s Son of Saul and George Miller’s Mad Max : Fury Road, the latter being out of competition.

This morning, the good surprise came from Stéphane Brizé’s The Measure of A Man (read our review), about a man (looking for a job. French actor Vincent Lindon delivers here an impressive performance (see photo abive) which, so far, might put him in the race for best actor, along Vincent Cassel (My King – photo below), Colin Farrel (The Lobster), Geza Röhrig (Son of Saul) and John Turturro (Mia Madre). Hopefully, there might be even more good performances coming our way, which should help us go through the end of the festival.
