ABOUT THE 2015 CANNES FILM FESTIVAL

  • The American filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen (Fargo) were co-headlining the Jury which also included Rossy de Palma  (Actress – Kika), Guillermo del Toro (Director – Pan’s Labyrinth), Xavier Dolan (Director – Mommy), Jake Gyllenhaal (Actor – Nightcrawler), Sienna Miller (Actress – Factory Girl), Sophie Marceau (Actress – Anthony Zimmer ) and Rokia Traoré (Singer-songwriter).
  • French actor Lambert Wilson (Of Gods and Men) was the host for the opening and closing ceremonies. Emmanuelle Bercot’s Standing Tall was opening the festival while French director Agnès Varda (Cleo from 5 to 7) received the honorary Palme d’Or during the festival’s closing ceremony.
  • The festival was paying tribute to Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman (Casablanca) who is also featured on the festival’s poster.
