Cinespia Cemetery Screenings 2014

cinespia2014With summer being around the corner, it’s time for Cinespia to launch its popular movie screening series at the beautiful Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Before thinking about heading to one of their showing with your blanket and bottle of wine, you should be warned that this event isn’t “confidential” anymore, its popularity having grown sharply over the last 12 years; as a result, it is now recommended to reserve your tickets online way in advance if you want to make sure to get your little spot of grass on the lawn.

This year, tickets are priced at $14 and gates open at 6:30, followed by screenings scheduled at 8:30. You can also reserve parking for $8 or $15 if you don’t want to have to walk around the block – I recommend parking early on Gower for free. As always, there should be some djs spinning to get you in a festive mood.

Here is the 2014 movie lineup:

  • May 10th: National Lampoon’s Vacation
  • May 17th: Seven
  • May 24th: Jaws
  • May 25th: Almost Famous
  • May 31st: Rear Window

As it’s usually the case, Cinespia mostly features classics and cult films, you’ve probably already watched a couple times but what matters is the experience. So far Jaws and Rear Window seem to be some good choices to enjoy while laying on the grass with a  glass of wine.

more films will be added as the schedule gets updated.
