New Blu Ray Releases This Week: April 14th 2015

maps to the starsBlu-ray releases from major filmmakers are coming out this week:

  • While not as extravagant as most of his other works, Tim Burton’s Big Eyes is both fascinating and charming – mostly thanks to Amy Adams and Christoher Waltz’s performances. And if you’re an art snob – like me – be assured that you don’t have to be a fan of Margaret’s big-eyed naive paintings to enjoy this movie.
  • On the other hand, David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars seemed promising but proved to be a pretentious mess – read our full review here.
  • When it comes to “classics”, the 80’s anarchist romp Class of 1984 is getting the Blu-Ray treatment thanks to Shout Factory.
