New Blu Ray Releases This Week: February 21st 2017

Blu Ray release February 21st

3 Classic Films by Claude Chabrol Blu Ray release on February 21st

After a few weeks poor in worthy Blu-Ray releases, this week has quite a few strong contenders which are getting timely released right before Academy Awards voting ends.

The first one is the much acclaimed drama Manchester by The Sea about a man (Casey Affleck) whose life gets transformed when he becomes the guardian of his teenage nephew.

Then we have Mel Gibson’s directional return in the spotlight with Hacksaw Ridge, a World War 2 movie about a heroic conscientious objector (Andrew Garfield).

Then we have the sophisticated icy thriller Nocturnal Animals, which stars Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal and is the sophomore effort from fashion designer turned film director Tom Ford – this one should satisfy fans of The Neon Demon and The Canyons.

Since we also focus on French movies, I also wanted to mention 3 Classic Films by Claude Chabrol focusing on the female-focused dramas  L’Enfer (Emmanuelle Béart), Betty (Marie Trintignant) and The Swindle (Isabelle Huppert). Last but not least, there is a lavish version of Beauty and The Beast directed by Christopher Gans (Brotherhood of the Wolf), starring Vincent Cassel and Lea Seydoux.
