Blu Ray release January 17th with Ixcanul

Ixcanul Blu-Ray release on January 17th 2017

This week, we only have one pick, rather than 3, with the blu-ray release of the acclaimed award-winning Guatemalan movie Ixcanul, which was originally screened at the AFI Fest film festival here in Los Angeles and released last year in theaters.

Set in Guatemala’s highlands, in a Mayan community living under the shadow of a god-like active volcano, Ixcanul centers on a 17-year old girl and tackles various themes from the condition of women in rural Latin American societies to human trafficking and rituals.

To learn more about this film, you can read our full Ixcanul review here and watch the trailer.
