On The Road Blu-Ray DVD

on-the-road-posterThe adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s emblematic Beatnik novel by Walter Salles (The Motorcycle Diaries) is available on Blu-Ray, DVD and streaming.

Starring Sam Riley and Kristen Stewart, the film follows a young writer’s road trips throughout the US, as he experiences with poetry, jazz and sex.

Presented with a 1080p transfer, the film looks and sounds good but is pretty bare when it comes to extras including the usual deleted scenes and trailer.

Own it, Watch it or Skip it?

A major disappointment, On the Road failed at capturing the intensity of the novel and is also a low-point in Walter Salles’ career (read our full review here). As a result, this one is definitely no-go and we recommend skipping it and read the book instead …
